Splitboarding in the realm of the polar bears on the Arctic island of Spitsbergen is a true “Trip Of A Lifetime” for every splitboarder. elooa offers you this highlight in 2025 with the support of snowmobiles!

Travel with us above the Arctic Circle and experience a special kind of splitboard adventure with elooa Pro Guiding. Via Oslo we reach Longyearbyen, the northernmost settlement on earth and move into our accommodation in the old mining settlement Nybyen for the next 9 nights. There are a few bars, small stores and a couple of hotels on site. Polar bears are in the majority, reindeer and whales are on the menus of the restaurants in the tiny “metropolis” and the only way to reach and explore the huge glaciated wilderness in winter is by snowmobile, dog sled or splitboard.

More polar bears than people distinguish Spitsbergen from other mountain regions in the world. We have to take this danger very seriously and are therefore accompanied every day by a local Arctic Nature Guide, equipped with a flare gun and big game hunting rifle.

Depending on the weather and conditions, our two guides will decide which peaks will be our destinations over the next 8 days. On Spitsbergen, you could go on a lifetime of splitboard tours without climbing a summit twice. With the support of our snowmobiles, we will always travel in pairs to and from the starting point of the tour. After a long day out in the rugged mountain world, we are all the more pleased to return to our well-heated accommodation, enjoy a delicious meal in the evening and review our impressions over a glass of wine. We have to do without darkness completely this week, as the sun spins in a 360-degree circle in the sky for 24 hours. There are also opportunities for boat trips, sauna and museum visits on site before we start our journey home.
