elooa OPENING CAMP - Let's kick off the winter season together!

Fresh snow, the first turns of the season, familiar faces, and a community that shares the same spirit—that's the elooa OPENING CAMP.

This winter, too, we’ll be kicking off the new winter season together on the Kaunertal Glacier. What originally started as a backcountry opening, we’re now taking to the next level: a joint season opener for snowboarders, splitboarders, coaches, guides, partners, and friends. Over the past few years, this has grown into a strong community, and we’d like to bring everyone together at the start of the season—to ride together, share experiences, meet new people, and just have a good time on the mountain. Because starting the winter season together is just even more fun.

At the elooa OPENING CAMP, we offer professional workshops led by our experienced elooa coaches and guides. Whether it’s carving, freeriding, or splitboarding—you can choose the workshop that best suits your skill level and goals.

The Kaunertal Glacier offers the perfect setting for this: guaranteed snow, an impressive mountain backdrop, and a long-standing connection to the snowboarding community make the glacier the ideal place for our joint season opener. Perfectly groomed runs, varied terrain, and—depending on conditions—the first powder runs of the season ensure a perfect weekend on the board.

In addition to riding together, safety is also a key focus. Especially at the start of the season, it’s important to brush up on your technique, develop new skills, and familiarize yourself with the key fundamentals of responsible backcountry riding.

You'll also have the chance to test the latest gear from our partners and try out different snowboard, splitboard, freeride, and backcountry setups right on the mountain. You can select all of these options in the next step.

On Friday evening at 5:00 p.m., we’ll meet at our base camp—complete with a sauna and steam room—down in the valley. After check-in and receiving your test gear, a three-course dinner will be served, followed by a group welcome evening. There, you’ll get to know the other participants, our coaches, and the elooa community. Together, we’ll kick off a weekend full of riding, sharing experiences, and authentic snowboarding moments.

The elooa OPENING CAMP is the perfect way to kick off the winter season: ride together, meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, improve your skills, and share your passion for snowboarding.

Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced rider, using the lift or climbing skins—everyone is welcome at this year’s elooa OPENING CAMP!

We offer several workshops to help you brush up on your skills at the start of the season and improve them with the help of our state-certified coaches and guides. You can choose from the following options:

• Workshop FREERIDE:
  Start of the season with lift in the ski area, for beginners and advanced skiers, grouping according to level, deep snow technique, freeride terrain assessment, avalanche prevention, advanced avalanche transceiver training, avalanche search training park.
• Workshop SPLITBOARD:
  Start of the season with splitboards in the backcountry, for beginners and advanced riders, groups divided according to level, splitboard technique exercises, splitboard terrain assessment, avalanche prevention, advanced avalanche transceiver training, avalanche search training park.
• Workshop CARVING:
  Start of the season with lift in the ski area, for beginners and advanced skiers, grouping according to level, Improving basic technique, turn control, and body position; carving and snowboard control; avalanche prevention.

The following services are included in the tour price:

• 2 nights with half board in a shared room
• 2 days wellness with sauna, steam bath & infrared cabin
